MEANING:
Sarvam sthulathanam gajendra vadhanam lambhodharam sundaram
Sarvam – Entire / Complete
Sthula-thanam – Huge-bodied / having a massive frame
Gajendra-vadhanam – Elephant-faced (Gajendra = elephant king; vadhanam = face)
Lambhodaram – Pot-bellied (Lamba = long; udara = stomach)
Sundaram – Beautiful
→ I bow to the one with a large, majestic body, the face of an elephant (Gajendra-vadana), a pot belly (Lambodara), and a beautiful, charming form.
Prasyandham madhagandha lubdha madhu-pavyaalola ganda-sthalam
Prasyandham – Flowing / dripping
Madha-gandha-lubdha – Attracted to the smell of ichor (fragrance of elephant’s rutting juice)
Madhu-pa – Bees (literally, those who drink honey)
Vyalola – Restless / wavering
Ghanda-sthalam – Cheek area / temples (of the head)
→ His cheeks are moist with the flowing ichor (fragrant liquid) of intoxication (divine bliss), and bees, drawn by the aroma, hover around his cheeks in a dance-like motion.
Dhantha-ghata vidhaari dhaari rudhiraih sindhoora shobhakaram
Dhantha-gatha – Entering into the tusk / attached to the tusk
Vidhaari-dhaari – The one who holds a splitting weapon (vidhaari = one who tears apart)
Rudhiraihi – With blood
Sindhura-shobhakaram – Shining like vermilion / red and glowing in color (sindhura = red powder, shobhakaram = glorious)
→ He fought with demons (symbolically, obstacles) and their blood, mixed with his vermillion (sindhura), adds to his radiance and divine aura.
Shaila suta sutam ganapatim siddhi-pradam kaamyaham
Vande – I bow / I salute
Shaila-suta-sutam – The son of the daughter of the mountain (i.e., Parvati – daughter of the mountain, so this refers to Ganesha)
Ganapatim – Lord of the Ganas / Ganesha
Siddhi-pradham – Bestower of success / achievements
Kaamyaham – I desire / I long for
→ I desire and bow to Ganapati, the son of Parvati (Shaila Suta – daughter of the mountain), the bestower of success (Siddhi-pradam).
Aadhyam tharahitha yeralava shesha saha gananapathikive kaimodpulu
Aadhyam = The first one / The beginning
Tharahitha = Without any second / unparalleled / unique
Yeralava = Countless
Shesha saha = Along with Shesha (the divine serpent) and others
Gananapathikive = To Lord Gananapathi
Kaimodpulu = Salutations / Folded hands / Devotional offerings
→ To the One who is the very beginning, who is without equal, and is worshipped even by the countless celestial beings like Shesha—I offer my salutations to Lord Gananapathi with folded hands.
Vighna bhaghna nimaghna varasadguna gananapathikive naa pranathulu
Vighna bhaghna = The destroyer of obstacles
Nimaghna = Immersed
Vara sadguna = Noble and excellent virtues
Gananapathikive = To Lord Gananapathi
Naa pranathulu = My obeisance / My salutations
→ To the Lord Gananapathi who is deeply immersed in and radiates excellent divine virtues, and who destroys all obstacles—I offer my humble salutations.
